WARSAW (Sputnik) — Polish leader Duda handed Szydlo a corresponding decree in a ceremony at the presidential palace in Warsaw.
Earlier on Thursday, the first meeting of the new convocation of the Polish parliament lower house (Sejm) took place. In accordance with the nation's constitution, outgoing Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz of the Civic Platform party announced the resignation of her government.
On October 25, parliamentary elections were held in Poland. The right-wing Law and Justice Party won the elections, gaining almost 38 percent of the vote.
