MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia will not bargain with the United States and the European Union over their policy of sanctions, Russia's envoy to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov said Friday.
"I think that we won't discuss sanctions with them [the United States and the European Union], we won't bargain," Chizhov told Rossiya-24 TV channel.
Sanctions against Russia were created by the West, so the issue is the responsibility of the US and the EU, the envoy added.
The European Union, the United States and their allies imposed several rounds of sanctions on Russia in 2014 over its alleged interference in the Ukrainian crisis — a claim repeatedly denied by the Kremlin.
