MOSCOW (Sputnik) — French authorities have suspended all sports competitions in Paris region following a wave of terror attacks in the country's capital, French TV ITele channel reported on Saturday.
The Friday attacks in the French capital occurred at seven different locations, including the Bataclan concert hall and the Stade de France stadium. They took the lives of some 130 people.
According to local media reports, the attacks could be terrorists’ revenge for Syria, as Islamic State (ISIL) radicals have reportedly claimed responsibility for the terror attacks.
Earlier in the day, a Russian representative on the skating competitions in southwestern French city of Bordeaux told R-Sport that International Skating Union (ISU) decided to continue the ongoing competitions that started on Friday. However the competitions are going to start with a minute of silence.
