Muslims have been posting images to social networks with the hashtag #NotInMyname following the terror attacks in Paris, which took the lives of 129 people and left 352 injured on Friday.
The hashtag is being used to distance the Islamic faith from the actions of the terrorists.

This is not Islam and these attackers do not follow the beliefs of any religion. The ideology of terrorists is hate. #paris #notinmyname

The #NotInMyname campaign was launched last year by a community group in east London after the murders of two British aid workers, Alan Henning and David Haines, by Islamic State terrorists.

"As British Muslims we utterly condemn ISIS, who are abusing the name of Islam with their acts of terrorism. We call on fellow British Muslims to unite and denounce this evil group and their acts," said the Active Change Foundation, which set up the video and social media campaign.
