TOKYO (Sputnik) — At least 29 people were injured during a large-scale anti-government protest in the South Korean capital of Seoul, local media reported Sunday.
On Saturday, protesters in Seoul rallied against South Korean President Park Geun-hye and his state policy in regard to labor market reforms and changes in how history is taught in the country. Law enforcement used tear gas and water cannons against demonstrators, claiming incidents of violence and safety fears.
At least 29 civilians were injured and more than 50 people detained during the clashes, South Korean Yonhap news agency reported, adding that several police officers were said to have been injuries, but an exact number was not made available.

The largest South Korean protest in seven years gathered some 130,000 demonstrators from about 50 trade unions and civil nongovernmental organizations.
