ANTALYA (Sputnik) — There are no Japanese-origin people who have joined or are willing to join the Islamic State (IS) jihadist group, Press Secretary of the Japanese Foreign Ministry Yasuhisa Kawamura told Sputnik on Monday.
“As far as I know, we do not have youngsters among the Japanese, who are joining or may join ISIL,” Kawamura said.
The IS extremist group, which controls large areas of Syria and Iraq, is known for recruiting people from all over the world via social networks through which it spreads its radical ideology and urges young people to join the group.
