In Syria's second-largest city of Aleppo, an ISIL convoy loaded with weapons and ammunition was destroyed in an attack by the Syrian Army.
In a separate development, Syrian forces reportedly carried out a new round of offensives against the strongholds of two terrorist groups, the al-Nusra Front and Jeish al-Mujaheddin, in the northern countryside of Aleppo province.

In the province of Dara'a, at least 37 terrorists were killed in an array of attacks on militant groups conducted by the Syrian Army, the National Defense Forces and Hezbollah fighters.

Also, the Syrian Army advanced on the militant groups' defense lines in al-Ghizlan Farm and the town of al-Ghariya al-Sharqiya, with dozens of terrorists reportedly being killed or injured.

In a major breakthrough, the Syrian Army completely drove militant groups away from Marj al-Sultan Airbase and its surroundings in the eastern suburbs of the capital Damascus on Sunday. This became the army's second major victory after lifting the ISIL siege of Kuweires airbase early last week.
On September 30, more than fifty Russian aircraft, including Su-24M, Su-25 and Su-34 warplanes, commenced precision airstrikes on Islamic State targets in Syria at the behest of Syrian President Bashar Assad. Earlier that day, the Russian upper house of parliament unanimously supported the request of President Vladimir Putin to deploy units of the Russian Aerospace Forces abroad.
Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad confirmed that Syrian Army strikes, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, were being carried out against armed terrorist organizations, not political opposition factions or civilians.
