UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) – According to the Yonhap news agency, which had reported on Ban’s visit, the trip created hopes that the relations between North and South Korea would see progress and that the Pyongyang nuclear issue would be solved.
"In fact, we don't have any information," the UN press office told RIA Novosti.

Earlier media reports claimed that the UN chief would visit North Korea this week for the first time since he assumed the position.
"We don't have anything to comment," the UN said.
Ban was supposed to visit North Korea in May to hold talks with several officials. However, Pyongyang made a last-minute decision to now allow the UN chief to enter.
