MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Bulgarian Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova presented on Tuesday a counter-terrorism strategy for 2015-2020, local media reported.
The move comes following deadly attacks in Paris on November 13, when a series of coordinated terrorist attacks at various locations in the French capital left about 130 people dead and some 350 injured.
Bachvarova pointed out that situations in Syria, Iraq and North Africa as well as the Islamic State (IS) jihadist group, carry significant risk for the Bulgarian security. She added that refugee flow to the country increased a potential terrorist threat.
The plan contains measures on national and local levels, including development of a monitoring and coordination system and improvement of the special forces performance.
