APEC Leaders 'Share Same Goal' of Boosting World Prosperity
08:58 GMT 18.11.2015 (Updated: 13:49 GMT 06.08.2022) Leaders of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) share the same priorities with regard to achieving prosperity for their citizens, Philippine President Benigno Aquino said Wednesday.
MANILA (Sputnik) — The APEC summit is currently underway in Manila uniting 21 Pacific Rim member economies.
"We have the same mission to enhance… the prosperity," Aquino said at the opening of the plenary meeting between APEC leaders and members of the APEC Business Advisory Council.

The Philippine president added that innovation was necessary to ensure economic growth, allowing APEC countries to be increasingly competitive.
A majority of APEC leaders are present at the summit, including US President Barack Obama, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
