Papua New Guinea Leader Confident Country Able to Join TPP Deal
Negotiations on the wording and content of the US-led free trade deal were completed in early October. In late October, Indonesian President Joko Widodo voiced the country's intent to join the TPP deal during talks with US President Barack Obama.

"We are studying very carefully possible impact of joining the TPP… What we expect is growth in our trade business and investment and more efficient trade with the countries of the Asia Pacific," Kalla said at APEC CEO Summit in Manila.

The TPP agreement unites 12 countries of the Pacific Rim region, including the United States, Canada, Japan and Australia to deregulate trade among the signatories which together make up 40 percent of the world economy.
