The deadly terror attacks that rocked Paris on November 13 might incite a higher level of cooperation between the countries involved in defeating the Islamic State group, a spokesman for the Austrian Foreign Ministry told Sputnik Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik), Svetlana Alexandrova – Earlier in the day, French President Francois Hollande reiterated his intent to discuss with his US and Russian counterparts coordinated efforts to fight Islamic State, in the wake of the Paris massacres.

"I do not exclude with all the terrorist attacks in Paris we end up a higher level of cooperation between the heads of states and governments concerning a common approach for Syria," Thomas Schnoll stated.

Being part of the US-led coalition against the ISIL militants since September 2014, Vienna participates politically, not militarily, providing humanitarian aid to ISIL-persecuted religious minorities in Iraq and Syria.
