MOSCOW (Sputnik) – WADA’s independent investigative commission issued a report last week accusing Russia of violating global anti-doping codes and recommending that the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) suspend Russia from events, including the 2016 Olympic Games.
"Many nuances and a lot of information had been collected on the basis of hidden cameras, recordings, with the use of wiretapping. In other words, not according to our laws," Mutko said as quoted by the R-Sport news agency.
Speaking at a "government hour" held in the lower house of Russian parliament, the minister stated that the WADA commission continues to "put pressure on those institutions that have to make decisions."
WADA temporarily removed its accreditation of a Moscow-based anti-doping laboratory after the report. IAAF then provisionally suspended the All-Russia Athletic Federation (ARAF) from IAAF membership.
