UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — The United States, Ukraine, Canada and Palau voted against the resolution. The European Union and NATO member countries abstained from the vote, according to a live streaming of the committee session broadcast on the UN website.

The resolution also concerns neo-nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination and xenophobia.

The full General Assembly is expected to vote on the resolution later during the 70th session.
