HMEIMIM AIRBASE (Syria), (Sputnik) — All aircraft from the Russian air group in Syria are involved in round-the-clock combat missions as Russia has significantly intensified air operations against terrorists in the war-torn country, a military spokesman said Thursday.
"We are actively using all combat aircraft based at the Hmeimim airfield," spokesman for the Russian Aerospace Forces, Col. Igor Klimov, said.
"The planes are carrying out combat sorties day and night," Klimov added.
Russia has been conducting airstrikes on terrorists' positions in Syria since September 30 at the request of President Bashar Assad.
