ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) — Damascus and Moscow coordinate all anti-terrorist activities, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad said Friday.
"Syria coordinates all steps to counter terrorism with the Russian leadership," Haddad told reporters.
Syrian delegation led by Foreign Minister Walid Muallem is expected to visit Moscow next week to discuss further measures aimed at reconciliation of the Syrian crisis.
Russian jets commenced precision airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Syria on September 30, following a request from Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Since the beginning of the air campaign, Russian Aerospace Forces have carried out more than 2,000 sorties, destroying over 2,500 terrorist positions. Several hundreds of militants have been killed, dozens of command centers and depots destroyed.
