"Since November 15, the Syrian air force carried out 114 sorties and destroyed 447 targets in the Damascus, Homs, Hama, Idlib, Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor and Latakia provinces."
The Syrian Armed Forces have abundant evidence of the effectiveness of the Russian air campaign, which has inflicted irreparable damage to terrorists in Syria, an army spokesman said Friday.
Russian warplanes have been conducting airstrikes on terrorist targets in Syria at the request of President Bashar Assad since September 30.
"We have plenty of evidence of the effectiveness of the Russian airstrikes. Massive airstrikes of the Russian aviation have caused irreversible damage to the international terrorist organizations in Syria. They [Russian airstrikes] have broken their governance system and finance, destroyed their bases and warehouses," Brig. Gen. Ali Mayhoub told reporters.
According to him, Russia’s support gives strength to Syrians in the struggle against terrorism and plays a crucial role in the success of the Arab republic’s army.
"The Syrian people and the army are grateful to the Russian Armed Forces for the practical help in the fight against terrorism," Mayhub stressed.
Syrian troops will keep on carrying out the tasks of national importance to restore security, eradicate the threat of terror and restore order across the country, he concluded.
