All seven Turkish citizens, employees of the Turkish Airlines, who had been taken hostage by militants in a hotel in the capital of Mali on Friday, survived, the airline’s spokesman told RIA Novosti.

US Embassy Lifts Recommendation to Shelter After Mali Hotel Siege Concludes
ANKARA (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, several gunmen took 170 people hostage at a Radisson Blu Hotel in the center of Bamoko, including 140 guests and 30 hotel personnel. The Malian authorities assisted by US and French special forces freed the hostages

"All seven of our previously captured employees have been released," Ali Genc said, adding that they were released by the Malian special forces.

The spokesman added that the airline would send a plane to take the Turkish Nationals home later in the day.

According to the spokesman, crisis headquarters set up on Friday by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Turkish Embassy in Mali "took all the necessary actions" to help resolve the situation.
