MOSCOW (Sputnik) – One person is missing, the state-run Xinhua news agency said.
Earlier, the agency reported that 22 workers were trapped in a coal mine in Jixi City. The mine is operated by state-owned Heilongjiang Longmay Mining Holding Group.
It was reported that 38 people were working at the shaft's bottom when the fire broke out on Friday night. Sixteen men managed to escape.
In July, rescuers saved six men from a flooded coal mine in Heilongjiang Province.
China is the second coal producer in the world.
