MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Anonymous group claimed earlier Saturday that ISIL militants were planning an assault on a World Wrestling Entertainment event, due to take place in Atlanta on Sunday evening, according to the International Business Times portal.
The WSB-TV channel reported, citing an FBI source, that the investigators were taking the threat seriously, but there was no need to panic. There is no known active plot targeting the event, according to the source.
The Anonymous group has declared a cyberwar against ISIL in the wake of the deadly Paris attacks on November 13, threatening to expose Twitter accounts affiliated with the group and disturb their communications via spam.
According to the hacktivists, ISIL is reportedly targeting other locations including Paris, Rome and Milan, as well as sites in Indonesia and Lebanon.
On November 13, at least 130 people were killed and over 350 injured in suicide bombings and shootings at a football stadium, a concert hall and restaurants in the French capital. Islamic State terrorists claimed responsibility for the attack.
