TOKYO (Sputnik) — A light helicopter crashed on Sunday in the central part of Japan's largest island of Honshu, killing two people, local media reported.
The US-made two-seat Robinson R22 helicopter carried two men, both died in the crash, according to the NHK broadcaster.
The incident occurred at about 11 a.m. local time (02:00 GMT) in the area of Annaka, southwestern Gunma Prefecture. The cause of the incident has not been yet determined, the TV channel said, however, law enforcers suggested that adverse weather conditions in the region might have contributed to the crash.
Currently, the traffic on the highway in the vicinity of the incident has been stopped.
