BUENOS AIRES (Sputnik) — Argentina’s pro-government presidential candidate Daniel Scioli admitted defeat to his opponent, Mauricio Macri, in the second round of election.
"I have just called engineer Mauricio Macri and wished him luck in the presidential office," Scioli told journalists.
After counting 60.37 percent of the ballots, opposition candidate Macri gained over 53 percent of the votes, while his rival Scioli received some 46 percent, according to the electoral authorities.
According to Scioli, the early results of the election show “the final tendency.”
