KIEV (Sputnik) – Nearly 2 million residents of Russia's Black Sea peninsula were left without power late Friday and Saturday when all four power lines were disabled in Ukraine’s Kherson region.
"Until our activists are released, no one will be allowed to perform repair works," Lenur Islyamov, one of the blockade coordinators, told Ukraine’s 112 broadcaster.
On Sunday, the Russian Energy Ministry said in a memo that up to 13 gas turbine electric generators were activated to provide power for Crimea up to a month. Emergency electricity and water supply schedules have been introduced on the Russian peninsula.
