KIEV (Sputnik) — Ukraine's government said Monday it would temporarily ban cargo traffic with Crimea.
"By the initiative of Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the Ukrainian government is temporarily prohibiting cargo traffic between Ukraine and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The decision was made Monday, November 23, at an extraordinary government meeting," the government's press service said in a statement.
In September, Ukraine suspended food supply to Crimea.
In March 2014, 96 percent of Crimean residents voted for rejoining Russia at a referendum following a declaration of independence from Ukraine.
