MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The next round of Contact Group talks on Ukrainian reconciliation will take place in the Belarusian capital of Minsk on December 8, the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) envoy to the talks told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
“The Contact Group and other subgroups will meet on December 8,” Vladislav Deinego said, adding that the political subgroup plans to meet ahead of that date.
Deinego said that the sides to the trilateral negotiations, speaking earlier in the day via online telephony, discussed the situation along the contact line and underscored the need for regional stability.
Established in May 2014, the Contact Group aims to promote direct dialogue between Kiev and pro-independence militias, including LPR and the neighboring self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). The group includes representatives from Russia, Ukraine and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
