WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Islamic State extremist group claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks, which left at least 130 dead and 350 injured, 99 critically. The French prime minister warned of possible further attacks, while President Francois Hollande described the attacks as an "act of war."
“Next week, I will be joining President Hollande and world leaders in Paris for the global climate conference. What a powerful rebuke to the terrorists it will be when world stands as one and shows that we will not be deterred from building a better future for our children,” Obama said on Tuesday.
Earlier, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said that the day-to-day work of the conference would be held regardless of the recent terrorist acts in Paris and that it would occur “under heightened security measures because this is an absolutely necessary conference in the fight against climate change.”
