The majority of likely Iowa caucus Republican voters said the candidates’ view on the US economy and labor market would determine who they will support. Only 15 percent of responders said terrorism and foreign policy would impact their choice, the poll found.

Meanwhile, 49 percent of respondents said that Trump is the best candidate to handle the economy, followed by Cruz who received 11 percent support. Thirty percent of the polled also favored Trump when it came to handling terrorism, while 20 percent supported Cruz.

The results of the poll come before candidates head to the Iowa caucus in February when delegates will be elected to take part in the national party convention to choose the Republican presidential nominee.
