MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Iran is interested in the entire range of Russian arms, with talks between the two sides currently underway, Vladimir Kozhin, Russian presidential aide on military-technical cooperation, said on Wednesday.
"They are interested in the whole range or our weapons, because they have a large army, significant armed force, but due to the sanctions and all the other events you know about, they have not been rearmed for some time," Kozhin told reporters.
"Talks are underway, and more are expected. The Iranian side is very interested in military-technical cooperation," Kozhin added.
Russia's S-300 deal became possible again after Iran reached a deal on its nuclear program with the P5+1 group of international mediators on July 14. Iran agreed to ensure the peaceful nature of its nuclear program in exchange for easing of the sanctions imposed against the country.
