"President Putin's comment that Turkey's move was a stab in the back is quite correct and fully corresponds with reality. In its fight against al-Nusra and the so-called Islamic State, namely the Islamists, Turkey stabs in the back not only Russia, but the whole Western alliance and NATO," he said.
“Turkey, for example, is striking the forces on the ground, the Kurdish forces, and allows the supplies of weaponry and ammunition through its territory.”
“Turkey, and namely Erdogan is in the state of an open confrontation towards President Assad. Turkey’s policy is largely two-faced.”
On Tuesday, President Putin reacted to the Turkish downing of a Russian Su-24 bomber jet operating in Syria by calling it a "stab in the back."
The president stressed that Russian pilots were in no way a threat to Turkey, which was "an obvious fact."
President Putin stated that the Su-24 incident in Syria steps over the boundary in the conventional war against terrorism.
