"We were fully equipped, according to the Geneva Convention, in blue vests and blue helmets with the inscription 'Press.' It was obvious where we are and who we are, but they opened fire," Kosarev said.
According to the RT reporter, the Syrian military even asked them to remove the press helmets because they were a specific target for terrorists.
The journalists said they were ready to return to Syria to continue performing their professional duties.
