MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the poll, 74 percent of participants in a similar 2013 survey said the UK government made the right decision not to authorize airstrikes in Syria, while only 42 percent agreed with the move in the latest poll.
The YouGov survey also revealed that 34 percent of British citizens said London made a mistake in not extending its airstrikes as part of a US-led coalition to Syria.
British Prime Minister David Cameron is slightly more trusted than distrusted on the Syrian issue, with 47 percent expecting him to make the right decisions to defeat terrorism and 43 percent doubting the UK leader, the poll said.

On Thursday, Cameron called on parliamentarians to support London’s air campaign in Syria against ISIL. A vote on his proposal may be held as early as next week, according to Cameron.
The British prime minister said previously that he did not want to rush the Parliament into a vote, focusing instead on boosting support for UK airstrikes in Syria after a vote for a similar proposal in August 2013 failed.
