Dozens of militants were killed and their weapons destroyed in a series of anti-terrorist operations on Sunday and Monday, Iran's Fars News reported.
"The army destroyed a tunnel of the Jeish al-Islam terrorists with a length of over 350 meters in Jobar neighborhood in Damascus city," reported Fars.
In addition, government forces retook swaths of countryside around the city, including the area surrounding the airport, from Jaish al-Islam.
In Darayya, a city in western Ghouta, the Syrian Army killed Ahmad Mahmoud, one of the terrorist group's senior commanders.
The army also targeted terrorists in the nearby city of Douma, killing at least two militants in attacks on fortified positions, and destroyed their vehicles and weapons.
