MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Three Russian Navy corvettes have entered the Caspian Sea to carry out exercises, Russia’s Southern Military District press service said Tuesday.
"At sea, the crews will practice interaction in a number of naval tactical exercises. Marines will carry out tasks under the threat of mass destruction weapons used by a simulated enemy…and hold drills on radiation, chemical and biological protection of ships during combat operations," the press service said.
The Grad Sviyazhsk, the Uglich and the Veliky Ustyug corvettes will log some 2,000 miles during the drills across the Caspian Sea.
