PRAGUE (Sputnik) – The incident with Turkey downing the Russian Su-24 plane will not affect the balance of forces in the fight against terrorism in Syria, Syrian President Bashar Assad said.
"I do not think that [the incident] would change the balance of forces. The counterterrorism war continues. The Russian support will be even stronger, and I do not think there is a way back," Assad told the Czech Television in an interview.
The president also did not believe that the downing of the plane would affect the negotiations on the Syrian settlement.
