MOSCOW (Sputnik) – US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump demanded the CNN broadcaster pay him $5 million, all of which would be donated to charity, for his participation in the next Republican presidential debates hosted by the channel, local media reported.
Trump’s proposal follows high ratings for a televised September debate of Republican presidential candidates in which the real estate investor and TV reality show host claims he was largely responsible.
"CNN had 23 million people. It was the biggest show in the history of CNN. I won’t do the debate unless they pay me $5 million, all of which money goes to the Wounded Warriors or to vets," Trump said Monday during a rally in Macon, Georgia, broadcast by the CBSN television channel.
The next Republican presidential debate is set to be hosted by CNN on December 15.
