MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Germany should reconsider republishing Adolf Hitler autobiographical manifesto Mein Kampf (My Struggle) for general public use, former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev said Wednesday.
Munich-based Institute for Contemporary History has announced a decision to reprint the book, in which Hitler outlines Nazi political ideology as well as his agenda for a Third Reich, and to sell it in bookstores starting in January.
"I would think twice if I were in their [Germans] place," Gorbachev told RIA Novosti, adding that a small circulation reprint for scientific research purposes could be more reasonable.
"I, personally, don't think it is necessary," Gorbachev said.
