MOSCOW (Sputnik) — High rainfall in the southeastern Indian city of Chennai caused heavy flooding, and flight and train cancellations, local media reported Wednesday.
"Chennai airport is totally waterlogged, about 700 passengers stuck at the airport," Minister for Culture and Tourism and Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma said said, as quoted by the The Asian News International.
Flooding has killed almost 190 in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu in the past month and has left hundreds of people without power or food.
