MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The next round of talks between Syria's authorities and opposition groups could be held in New York, Badr Jamous, a member of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, told Sputnik on Wednesday.
"We received informal information from the UN that the sides have agreed to hold a meeting in New York on December 18," Jamous said.
Syria’s President Bashar Assad said in an interview on November 22 that his government was ready to meet opposition in Moscow, which served as the venue for two rounds of intra-Syrian talks earlier this year.
Syrian Information Minister Omran Zoubi said last week that Moscow talks had been postponed due to what he described as differences between factions of Syrian external opposition.
