KHABAROVSK (Sputnik) – The Russian Eastern Military District will receive more than 30 tanks and special equipment by the end of the year, the district's spokesman said Wednesday.
"More than 70 percent of weapons have been delivered to the military units and formations stationed in the Zabaykalsky Krai [region] since the beginning of the year. The delivery of more than 30 T-72 tanks is planned before the end of the year, as well as command and staff vehicles and special vehicle equipment," Col. Alexander Gordeev said.
According to the spokesman, the equipment had already been supplied includes floating command and staff vehicles, modern communications and electronic warfare systems, laser intelligence devices, medical equipment and a helicopter resuscitation unit.
