MOSCOW (Sputnik) — UK police arrested four men on suspicion of terror activities in the British city of Luton located some 30 miles northwest of central London, the press service of the UK Metropolitan Police said in a statement Wednesday.
"The men — who are all in their 30s — have been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism. They have been taken into custody at a London police station," the statement said.
The operation was conducted jointly by counter-terrorism units in London's Metropolitan Police Service and local security services.
The statement added that police officers conducted searches in seven locations in Luton, as well as several vehicles.
The statement added that the investigation was not connected with the recent deadly Paris killings of November 13.
