WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — California gunman Syed Rizwan Farook, who participated in the mass shooting at social services center in San Bernardino, communicated with several international terrorists, US media reported on Thursday.
Farook was in touch with more than one terrorist via social media and phone, CNN reported citing law enforcement officials. The FBI has already been investigating one of the subjects who Farook contacted.
Earlier on Thursday, US President Barack Obama said the FBI is looking into possible motives behind the deadly mass shooting in San Bernardino. He added that the incident could be related to terrorism.
On Wednesday, Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik killed 14 people and injured dozens more after shooting at an Inland Regional Center holiday party gathering.
