TUNIS (Sputnik) — Tunisian Minister of Tourism Amel Karboul told Sputnik on Thursday she was planning to visit Moscow soon to hold talks on attracting more Russian tourists to her country.
"I will visit Moscow to meet with Russian tour operators. It is, in a way, an attempt to attract Russian tourists to Tunisia," Karboul said, adding that the visit could take place in a week.
Russians are currently facing fewer choices for their tourism agenda, as travel to their most popular destinations of Egypt and Turkey has been restricted due to security concerns and the deterioration of relations between Moscow and Ankara following he downing of a Russian Su-24 bomber by Turkey over Syrian territory on November 24.
