US President Barack Obama called on the US Congress in his weekly address on Saturday to bar those on the government's No-Fly list, which bans people accused of links to terrorism from commercial flights, from buying weapons.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, a shooting at Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California claimed lives of 14 people and injuring 21 others. The shooters used two assault-style rifles. On Friday, FBI said that the shooting was being probed as an act of terrorism.

"[San Bernardino shooting] is another tragic reminder that here in America, it's way too easy for dangerous people to get their hands on a gun. For example, right now, people on the No-Fly list can walk into a store and buy a gun… If you’re too dangerous to board a plane, you’re too dangerous, by definition, to buy a gun.  And so I’m calling on Congress to close this loophole, now," Obama said.

Police identified the San Bernardino shooters as US-born man of Pakistani origin Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik, a Pakistani national who was in the United States on a fiancee visa. The couple was killed in a shootout with police hours after the attack.

Obama has been trying to introduce restrictions on the Second Amendment to the US Constitution that guarantees the right of US citizens to keep and bear arms since he assumed the office in 2009.
