Senior Daesh Sponsor Returns to Syria From UK Despite Sanctions - Reports
20:45 GMT 06.12.2015 (Updated: 21:15 GMT 06.12.2015) Mohammed Khaled, a senior fundraiser for the Islamic State (ISIL, or Daesh in the Arab world) terrorist group, has left the United Kingdom for Syria despite the fact he had been placed on a terror sanctions list, local media reported Sunday, citing a UK High Court judgement.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The 45-year-old man who resided in west London was suspected of diverting humanitarian aid meant for Syrian refugees to the Daesh jihadists, according to The Telegraph.

He carried out his activity in spite of having the assets frozen under the 2010 UK Terrorist Asset-Freezing Act.
According to the court’s judgment, Khaled might be plotting terrorist acts against Britain while staying in Syria.
The incident raised questions about the ability of UK authorities to monitor and track extremists and control the British borders, the newspaper noted.
Last month, the United Kingdom announced its new safety and security strategy, pledging to strengthen its anti-terror measures, and invest into security, both at an international and domestic level.
The government strategy was announced in the wake of the November 13 terrorist attacks in Paris, which claimed the lives of at least 130 people.
