George Zimmerman came to notoriety in 2012 when, as a volunteer neighborhood watchman, he followed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. After a struggle, Zimmerman’s gun went off killing Martin. Following a high-profile, racially-charged trial a Florida jury found Zimmerman not guilty.

His Twitter account had become known for tweeting messages that many saw as racist and insensitive to Martin. This weekend, however, saw the final straw for Twitter which suspended him for posting nude photos of a woman he had had sexual relations, adding her phone number to encourage his followers to harass her. One tweet offered a racist in the description of a man he accused her of cheating on him with.
