MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Helicopters will carry out post-sale major overhaul of the fleet of Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters in service with the Egyptian air force, the company said Tuesday.
"In order to accomplish this task, the holding [which is part of State Corporation Rostec] will modernize repair facilities at a plant in Helwan, Egypt, and will provide technical assistance in the overhaul of Mi-8T and Mi-17-1B helicopters of the Egyptian air force," the company said in a statement.
According to Russian Helicopters, the fleet of Mi-family helicopters in service with the Egyptian air force consists of 41 Mi-8T and three Mi-17-1B choppers.
