MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian Transport Ministry has approved changes to its requirements for security at airports, the official Internet portal of legal information said Tuesday.
According to the ministry's decree, "security zones with a minimum width of 50 meters are being created near terminals and other airport buildings (a recommendation for airports serving domestic flights)."
The new security requirements permit a short-term set down area for vehicles picking up or dropping off passengers at security zones.
Parking vehicles is forbidden, except for vehicles involved in service or repair works to facilities in the air terminal or other parts of an airport's infrastructure. A special written permission issued by the aviation security service is required to conduct engineering works, according to the new rules.
