PARIS (Sputnik) — Several political issues still need to be resolved at the 21st UN Climate Change Conference (COP21) in Paris, and are currently under the negotiations, COP21 President and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said Wednesday after the updated version of the climate deal draft was released.
"Thanks to the good will of ones and the others, advance was made on several issues and compromises were found… Nevertheless there are important political issues under discussion," Laurent Fabius said on Twitter.
A slimmer version of the draft Paris Climate Change Conference final deal was released earlier on Wednesday. It contains 29 pages and lacks 14 more, as there is still no consensus on the target temperature.
The French capital is currently hosting the 21st UN Climate Change Conference, which is due to close on December 11. Representatives of 195 countries are expected to reach a legally binding agreement on climate change on Friday.
