MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia is ready for military cooperation with France, Iraq and Jordan to help ensure the closure of the Turkish-Syrian border, speaker of Russia's upper house of parliament Valentina Matvienko said Wednesday.
"Russia is ready to offer its services to ensure absolute control over this border. We have proposals that are being discussed on the level of security services," Matvienko told reporters.
The matter of controlling the Turkish-Syrian border is a key issue on the international agenda, according to the politician.
"Weapons are supplied through this border, financial means, militants enter resort areas. While the border is open, it will continue posing a threat to Russia," she added.
