“In Syria, coalition military forces conducted four strikes,” the release stated. “Separately in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 22 strikes.”
The airstrikes in Syria destroyed two Daesh oil well-heads, two tactical units, and a mortar, according to the release. In Iraq, the airstrikes in Iraq eliminated ten Daesh tactical units, four vehicles, four bunkers, four rockets and five guns.
The US-led coalition consists of 65 nations and has been conducting airstrikes in Iraq since August 2014 and in Syria since September 2014, albeit without the approval of the Syrian government or the UN Security Council.
Meanwhile, Russia also continued its air campaign in Syria against the Islamic State. The campaign begun on September 30 at the request of the Syrian government, and has resulted in the destruction of well over 3,000 targets.
